Extending a warm welcome

The Arctos & Bird team is pleased to welcome Michael Code as our new Director of Operations & Strategic Development. He starts August 3rd.

Michael CodeMichael brings a range and depth of business and project management experience to his new position. He is an accomplished executive in business, educational and conservation organizations, and a proven entrepreneur. Having spent the majority of the last thirty years living, working and volunteering in the Bow Valley, Michael has a deep appreciation for our mountain community and the national park.

Michael is coming to us from Y2Y (the Yellowstone to Yukon Conservation Initiative), where he successfully led major fundraising and marketing initiatives. Prior to that, he worked at the Banff Centre. As Director of Program Operations he provided guidance and direction to various creative leaders to support revenue and program strategies and resource planning. In his early years, Michael started and ran successful hospitality businesses.

Michael’s volunteer activities include serving as a Wildsmart Wildlife Ambassador, a Bow Valley Steward and as a bear monitor for Alberta Parks.

Michael will lead the Banff operations of Arctos & Bird, including Bison Courtyard and The Juniper Hotel & Bistro. He looks forward to increasing the positive impact of our businesses within the community, and among visitors to the mountain national parks.
